Job Summary
Minnesota IT Services (MNIT) is seeking a skilled and forward-thinking Modern Workplace & Business Applications Manager to lead our Microsoft 365 (M365) and Web/Application Development teams within the Software as a Service (SaaS) Division. This role is critical to advancing modern, secure, and user-centered technology services across Minnesota’s Executive Branch agencies.
In this role, you’ll guide service delivery teams to align with MNIT’s enterprise IT strategy and support the changing needs of government users and stakeholders. You will lead day-to-day operations of the enterprise M365 collaboration and productivity tools including Email, SharePoint, Teams, Power Platform, as well as the Tridion-based enterprise web hosting services and custom Application development teams.

We’re looking for a collaborative leader who understands both the technical and strategic dimensions of enterprise IT services and can help guide Minnesota’s digital government efforts into the future.
This position requires an employee to be onsite in St. Paul, Minnesota at least 50% of the time, with some opportunity to perform work from a telework location.
Qualifications
This position requires a minimum of five (5) years of experience working in a complex IT environment AND two (2) years of supervisory experience. Supervisor experience should cover multiple areas such as: selecting, orienting, and training employees; coaching, counseling, and performance managing employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results, etc.
Experience must include:
Two (2) years of experience in a Systems Architect classification or two (2) years of experience in an external IT Architect role may substitute for the required supervisory experience.
