Job description

Your opportunity

At Schwab, you’re empowered to make an impact—on your career, your partners, and the clients we serve. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us “challenge the status quo” and transform the finance industry together.

As a Business Analytics Developer within our Trading and Education Analytics team, you’ll act as a trusted analytics partner to leaders across Trading Services – including business partners supporting Trading Products, Trading Platforms, Trader Segments, Trader Sales, and Education & Schwab Network.

In this role, you’ll sit at the intersection of business strategy, data, and communication—translating complex business questions into actionable insights that drive growth, improve client experience, and support data‑driven decision‑making. You’ll collaborate closely with business partners, product teams, and data colleagues to ensure analytics is engaged early, aligned to priorities, and delivering measurable value.

You’ll join a collaborative, inclusive environment where we succeed together as One Schwab, are guided by integrity and service, and are supported to own your tomorrow through meaningful work and continued skill development.

In This Role You’ll
  • Serve as a key analytics partner to Trading Services business partners, building collaborative relationships, developing business knowledge, and delivering insights that support decision-making.
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand business needs, clarify requirements, and define analytical approaches and success measures, balancing business objectives and delivery timelines.
  • Design, build, and maintain business intelligence dashboards and reporting that provide visibility into performance, trends, and opportunities using modern BI tools (e.g., Tableau).
  • Translate analytical findings into clear, concise communications and business-relevant insights tailored to partners and leaders, enabling informed decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain SQL-based data queries, data sets, and reporting assets, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with enterprise data standards.
  • Collaborate with data engineering, governance, and analytics peers to deliver scalable, well-governed analytical solutions that support business needs across teams and systems.
  • Identify and communicate trends, risks, opportunities, and process improvements, bringing forward insights that help support strategic and operational decision-making.
Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of professional experience business intelligence, analytics, or data analysis, with demonstrated success supporting business partners in a consultative or liaison capacity.
  • Relationship‑building and communication skills, with the ability to listen, influence, and adapt messaging to different audiences.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience translating business questions into structured data queries and analyses.
  • Experience developing and maintaining dashboards and reports using business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, etc).
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with attention to detail and a focus on delivering actionable outcomes.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, cross‑functional environment while maintaining strong partner trust.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms or enterprise data environments (e.g., BigQuery, Oracle).
  • Experience partnering with product, technology, or data engineering teams in a matrixed organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or business‑related field (or equivalent practical experience).
