McCormick & Company, Incorporated is hiring a BUSINESS ANALYST II - TRANSPORTATION in a Hybrid (50/50) capacity at our Global Headquarters in Hunt Valley, Maryland. The role covers transportation planning across US facilities and supplier-to-plant movements.

The analyst will optimize transportation plans, analyze data, and lead continuous improvement efforts while coordinating with carrier partners and internal teams to maintain service levels and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business/logistics or transportation; 6 years experience may be substituted.
• 5-7 years experience in Transportation, Distribution, Materials Management, Purchasing and/or Logistics.
• Knowledge of transportation strategies, regulations and policies required.
• Microsoft Office proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Execute transportation plan for US facilities to ensure optimal utilization and service levels.
• Utilize system tech to deliver efficient transportation solutions and provide first-line system support.
• Lead small projects and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Produce monthly planning-region reports based on metrics and results.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and carrier management to meet customer requirements.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Responsibilities of this position include the daily execution of the transportation plan for assigned US McCormick distribution centers, manufacturing facilities and copackers. The successful candidate will ensure that the optimal transportation plan is achieved while maintaining established customer service levels. Modal considerations include TL, LTL, Intermodal, and Package.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Execute the transportation plan to ensure optimal transportation utilization is achieved. Analyze customer and logistics data to deliver service performance. All inbound shipments with in the US and Canada from our Supplier to our plant facilities.
• Utilize system technologies to produce efficient transportation solutions. Document and train others in system requirements/maintenance. Provides first line support for system issues.
• Identify and sustain continuous improvement opportunities related to respective planning region. Develop and sustain strategies for improvement. Lead \"small\" projects through to completion
• Responsible for production of monthly report for planning region based on metrics/results.
• Manage Inbound Planning activities by ensure daily objectives are met. facilitate and organize cross-functional team meetings, develop strategies and execute new supplier on-board initiatives. Train new team members and continuously mentor teammates. Manage team vacation and flex schedules, ensuring that all service requirements are covered daily.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Distribution, Logistics or Transportation- 6 years relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree
• 5-7 years experience in Transportation, Distribution, Materials Management, Purchasing and/or Logistics
• Must possess knowledge of transportation strategies, regulations and policies.
• Microsoft Office required.
• Good knowledge of technical activities and procedures to perform duties and a basic knowledge of these elements in other areas.
• Good understanding of how the team integrates with others functions to achieve OGSMs.
• Back‑up to Mgr for supervisory responsibility, coaches other members of the Department and provides training.
• Self‑management of own workload.
• Operates and communicates effectively across multiple functions. Ability to work with carrier base to ensure that customer requirements are met and terms of contract are honored by carrier. Coaching and mentoring team members.
• Daily internal interaction with Distribution supervisory and operations team, business unit customer service supervisory team and analysts, Carrier Management Team and Supply Planning. Daily external interaction with carrier representatives and material suppliers. Occasional external interaction with TMS provider technical personnel.
• Strong problem solving and organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize and multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• SAP, Manugistics/JDA software experience
• Experience in leading teams.

Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick’s Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan.
