Job description

Roadrunner is accelerating its digital transformation to create a more connected, efficient, and customer-focused transportation network. As we continue investing in mobile, web, and internal applications, we need a Business Analyst who can bridge operational needs with technology solutions and drive the delivery of products that create measurable business value.

This role sits at the intersection of operations, technology, and user experience. You will help shape the digital tools that support daily business execution, improve operational efficiency, and enhance the experience of both internal users and customers.

Success in this position means identifying opportunities for improvement, translating business needs into clear product requirements, ensuring high-quality feature delivery, and driving adoption of technology solutions that support Roadrunner’s growth strategy. Your work will directly influence operational performance, employee productivity, and the evolution of our digital product portfolio.

What you’ll do
1. Drive Digital Product Execution
  • Partner with stakeholders to define, prioritize, and deliver mobile, web, and internal application enhancements.
  • Translate business objectives, operational challenges, and user feedback into actionable product requirements and feature specifications.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams throughout the product lifecycle, from discovery through release and continuous improvement.
  • Manage feature scope, priorities, and release readiness to ensure successful product outcomes.
  • Help deliver digital solutions that increase operational efficiency and support Roadrunner’s strategic business objectives.
2. Lead Business Analysis and Requirements Management
  • Gather, document, analyze, and refine business requirements from operational and functional stakeholders.
  • Clarify change requests and ensure sufficient information is available to support project planning and development efforts.
  • Create detailed process flows, user stories, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria.
  • Identify gaps, risks, and dependencies that may impact project success.
  • Serve as a trusted partner between business users and technical teams to ensure alignment and transparency.
3. Improve Systems, Processes, and User Experience
  • Evaluate current workflows and identify opportunities to improve efficiency through technology and process enhancements.
  • Apply user-centered design principles to create intuitive and effective digital experiences.
  • Partner with operations teams to understand real-world challenges and develop practical solutions.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of product development methodologies, standards, and tools.
  • Champion a culture of innovation, usability, and operational excellence.
4. Ensure Product Quality and Adoption
  • Execute functional testing and validate complex system changes to ensure quality, accuracy, and business readiness.
  • Document test scenarios, expected outcomes, and acceptance results.
  • Participate in release validation and post-deployment support activities.
  • Conduct demonstrations, training sessions, and knowledge-transfer activities for end users.
  • Support change management efforts by helping users successfully adopt new functionality and processes.
5. Influence Business Performance Through Collaboration
  • Build strong relationships across Operations, Technology, Customer Experience, and Leadership teams.
  • Facilitate productive discussions that align stakeholders around business objectives and product priorities.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts in a clear, concise, and business-focused manner.
  • Support data-driven decision-making by identifying opportunities and recommending practical solutions.
  • Act as a key contributor to Roadrunner’s ongoing digital modernization initiatives.

  • Experience working within Agile, Scrum, or iterative product development environments.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and organization.

About Roadrunner

Roadrunner is for ambitious, smart people who excel at execution over talking about it, and who would rather invent the next standard in freight than accept the status quo.

We are looking for the Best of the Best. Action driven leaders who want to be part of real change and help design the future of LTL in the U.S. This is a place where high performers can grow, influence outcomes, and make an impact while working directly with executives and smart people from across industries.

We bring a winner mindset. We take ownership, raise the bar, and measure ourselves by results. We Run Safe. We Run Smart. We Run Together. These principles create an environment of high standards, clear ownership, and direct collaboration. We trust data over intuition, move with urgency, and hold each other accountable because winning requires it.

Roadrunner exists to prove that LTL can be better than the industry has settled for. To be the best means we need to think bigger, look outside the box, and question every assumption: too many handoffs, limited visibility, and the quiet belief that “this is just how it works.” We rejected that story. We built a proprietary Smart Network for direct, long haul, metro to metro service that delivers fewer touches, faster transit, real time visibility, and genuine accountability. We are the most tech forward company in LTL, and we are not finished widening the gap.

The foundation is already strong. Recognized as one of Built In Chicago’s Best Large Places to Work. Earning top marks for improvement, quality, and service. The real opportunity is still ahead: helping invent what comes next.

If you want to be evaluated among the Best of the Best and help set the new standard in LTL, we should talk.
