Job summary

Medidata in New York City is seeking a highly motivated Business Analyst to join the Commercial Partnerships team. You will evaluate licensing and partnership opportunities, conduct rigorous market analyses, and support our go-to-market strategy with partners.

  • Commercial Due Diligence: Analyze market, customer, and competitive trends to formulate a thorough view of the commercial merits of target investments.
  • Industry Deep-Dives: Gather and synthesize complex financial and operating data from target industries to establish deep investment perspectives.
  • Value Creation Strategies: Assist in developing growth and post-merger integration strategies and compelling presentations to maximize value from acquired assets and corporate initiatives.
  • Executive Support: Create high-impact presentation materials for use by the executive team, business unit leaders, and external stakeholders.
  • Program Management: Build operational structures, project plans, and alignment frameworks within large, multi-brand matrix organizations.

Location: This is a hybrid remote/in-office role.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated, analytical, and commercially minded Business Analyst to join our commercial sales organization as a member of the Commercial Partnerships team.

As a core member of the team, you will shape our growth landscape by supporting senior leadership in evaluating licensing and commercial partnership opportunities, conducting rigorous market analyses, and supporting our commercial go to market strategy with partners. Your work will include supporting strategic initiatives across the team as well as helping to evaluate target companies and assess market, customer, and competitor dynamics to inform our corporate partnership development trajectory.

    • Value Creation Strategies: Assist in developing growth and post-merger integration strategies and compelling presentations to maximize value from acquired assets and corporate initiatives.
    • Executive Support: Create high-impact presentation materials for use by the executive team, business unit leaders, and external stakeholders
    • Program Management: Help to build operational structures, project plans, and alignment frameworks from the ground up within large, multi-brand matrix organizations.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative field. A Master of Business Administration (MBA) is highly preferred and can substitute for years of professional experience.
  • Professional Experience: 1-4 years of experience with an analytical and strategic/program management background
  • Data & Commercial Acumen: Strong quantitative and interpretative skills, with an innate ability to translate raw data and complex industry trends into actionable strategic narratives.
  • Communication & Presence: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable creating executive-ready PowerPoint decks and presenting findings clearly to senior leadership. Expert-level capability in Excel/quantitative analysis; some experience with financial modeling a plus.
  • Mindset: A high-energy, curious individual who thrives in a dynamic, collaborative, and fast-paced environment. Must be highly adaptable, resilient, and comfortable working under tight transaction timelines.
  • Location: NYC highly preferred.

The salary range posted below refers only to positions that will be physically based in New York City. As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location. Pay ranges for candidates in locations other than New York City, may differ based on the local market data in that region. The base salary pay range for this position is $79,000-$106,000.

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata's non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
