Job summary

Terrestris, LLC is seeking a Business Analyst in Washington, DC to support the US Capitol Police IRMD contract. The role focuses on project coordination, requirements management, Agile support, and stakeholder communications for IT initiatives within a PMO environment.

You will work onsite at least two days weekly with up to three days of telework after onboarding, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday–Friday, contributing to documentation, backlog refinement, and governance activities under PM direction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 5+ years in administrative, coordination, or project support roles.
  • Experience supporting IT projects preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with MS Office proficiency.
  • Experience with collaboration/workflow tools (SharePoint, Teams, Planner).

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate requirements gathering and backlog management within a PMO.
  • Support agile ceremonies (standups, planning, reviews, retros).
  • Assist with UAT planning and coordination.
  • Maintain project docs in Confluence, SharePoint, Teams.
  • Prepare schedules, agendas, status reports, and action logs.
  • Coordinate meetings, capture notes, and track actions.
  • Support milestone tracking and dependency monitoring under PM direction.
  • Assist PMO governance activities including risk and issue tracking.

We are seeking a Business Analyst for the US Capitol Police (USCP) Information Resource Management Division (IRMD) Support program. This project will provide project management, business, administrative, and records management support for the USCP’s Office of Information Services (OIS), primarily supporting the IRMD. This is a full-time position based in Washington, DC, supporting USCP onsite a minimum of two days per week, with up to three days of telework after an initial two-month full-onsite acclimation period. Normal working hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

So, what will the Business Analyst at Terrestris do?

The Business Analyst will support the USCP IRMD Support contract, providing project coordination, requirements management, Agile support, and stakeholder communication services. This position is contingent upon contract award.

What does a typical day look like for a Business Analyst?

You will:

  • Support IT project delivery within a PMO by facilitating requirements gathering, managing backlogs, assisting in either Waterfall, Kanban or Agile ceremonies, and supporting general project coordination activities. The role works closely with stakeholders, developers, and project managers to document needs, refine user stories, track progress, and ensure consistent communication across teams.
  • Support requirements gathering, user story development, acceptance criteria, and backlog refinement in tools such as JIRA and Teams Planner.
  • Assist with sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies.
  • Support UAT planning, documentation, and coordination activities as needed.
  • Maintain project documentation in Confluence, SharePoint, Teams, or similar platforms.
  • Prepare and update project materials including schedules, agendas, status reports, and action logs.
  • Coordinate project meetings, capture meeting notes, and follow up on assigned actions.
  • Support milestone tracking, timeline updates, and dependency monitoring under PM direction.
  • Assist with PMO governance activities, including risk and issue tracking, and routing documents for review/approval.
  • Provide communication support by developing draft stakeholder updates and reporting inputs.
  • Perform general PMO support when needed, such as data entry, project record maintenance, and logistics coordination.
What qualifications do you look for?

You might be the professional we’re looking for if you have:

  • Ability to successfully complete a USCP criminal history check and fingerprinting process and qualify for a USCP identification/access badge is required.
  • Authorization to permanently work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 5+ years of experience providing administrative, coordination, or project support services.
  • Familiarity with project management concepts, workflows, and tools; experience supporting IT projects preferred.
  • Ability to organize information, manage multiple priorities, and maintain accurate project documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience using collaboration and workflow tools, including SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Teams Planner, and Planner Premium.

We will be extra impressed if you have:

  • Business Analysis or Agile certification (e.g., ECBA, CCBA, CBAP, PMI-PBA, CSM, CSPO).
  • Experience working with Agile delivery tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
  • Ability to perform basic data analysis and create process models or workflow diagrams.
  • Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills with the ability to support technical and non-technical stakeholders.
