Job summary

California State University, Fullerton is seeking a Business Advisor to provide comprehensive academic advising for undergraduates in the College of Business and Economics. The role involves guiding students through degree requirements, course selection, and academic policies while maintaining accurate records.

The ideal candidate will coordinate appointments, workshops, and outreach efforts to promote student success and retention.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university in behavioral sciences, public administration, business administration, or a related field plus one year of professional Student Services experience.
• Advanced knowledge of organization and program management methods.
• Experience with research techniques, interviews, and behavior principles.
• Ability to interpret program rules, gather and analyze data, reason logically, and make recommendations.
• Ability to present clear oral and written information.
• Ability to learn campus procedures and overall organization.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic advising to undergraduate students within the College of Business and Economics.
• Guide newly admitted and continuing students through advising sessions, workshops, and presentations.
• Assist with scheduling, transcripts, course substitutions, and major changes; maintain accurate student records.
• Support student success initiatives, orientations, and educational workshops to promote retention and achievement.
• Coordinate outreach, intervention strategies, and front desk advising coverage.
