Job summary

San Joaquin County Office of Education in Stockton, CA is seeking a School Bus Monitor to support daily routes and ensure the safety and welfare of all passengers, including special needs students, under the bus driver.

You will load and unload riders, assist with safe bus operation, help sanitize seats and belts, and work with the driver as part of a small team. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent; no minimum experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine school bus monitoring and provide assistance to all passengers, including special needs students, during daily routes.
• Ensure safe loading and unloading of students; assist with maintaining hygienic standards on the bus (seats, belts, floor, etc.).
• Work in a team environment with the school bus driver and intervene to prevent escalations in student behavior.

Job Summary

Perform routine school bus monitoring, and provide all passengers, including special needs students, and bus driver assistance during daily school transportation routes; ensure all bus activities support the safety and welfare of all special needs students, including intervention to avoid escalating student behavior on the bus; perform related duties as assigned. Ensure the safe loading and unloading of students to and from destinations, may assist with maintaining hygienic standards on the bus including but not limited to cleaning and sanitizing seats, belts, floor, etc. Work in a team environment with the school bus driver.

Single Rate

$21.28 Per Hour

Length of Work Year

10 months per year, full or part-time on-call assignments
