New Flyer is seeking a Painter II to apply primer and finish coatings on transit buses in a production setting. You will follow established procedures, maintain clean work areas, and work under supervision to develop painting skills while adhering to safety and quality standards.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to distinguish color shades, and teamwork within a dynamic production environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; painting certification is a plus.
• Experience in automotive or industrial painting preferred.
• Detail-oriented with ability to differentiate color shades.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a production environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Clean, prep, and apply primer and finish paint to buses according to specifications.
• Ensure proper paint application techniques are followed, including proper distances and overlaps.
• Mask and tape surfaces as per requirements to achieve a clean paint finish.
• Identify and rectify surface defects prior to painting.
• Conduct routine maintenance on spray equipment and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
• Participate in training programs to enhance skills and ensure compliance with company standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with 5S principles.
