Job summary

Putnam County Schools is seeking a qualified School Bus Operator to operate school buses and transportation vehicles as directed by the West Virginia Board of Education. The position requires a CDL Class B with Passenger and Airbrake endorsements, a clean DMV record, and completion of the required training, along with 3 years of licensed driving experience.

The role entails 200 days of employment with a defined daily schedule, including pre-trip checks, morning and afternoon pullouts, and

Qualifications

• Holds a high school diploma or GED or TASC
• Holds a Commercial Driver’s License, Class B, Passenger and AirbrakeEndorsements
• Passes the required physical examination
• Has three years of experience as a licensed driver
• Passes the Department of Motor Vehicles Driving Record Check
• Passes the Drug/Alcohol Screening
• Completes 40 hours of required classroom training and 20 hours of behind the wheel training.
• Holds First Aid/CPR Certification
• Holds a West Virginia School Bus Operator’s Certificate

• Location And Length Of Route(S) May Vary Determined by Coordinator of Transportation Dependent Upon the number and/or location of students requiring transportation services.
• Daily schedule notes: Pre-Trip and pull-out times in the morning and afternoon, and Post-Trip procedures.
