Job summary

Paycom - ATS is seeking a bus operator to transport passengers safely across assigned routes in Butts, Lamar, Pike, Spalding, and Upson Counties in Georgia and nearby areas. CDL is not required.

The role entails following a manifest, collecting fares, assisting passengers, and communicating with the call center for updates and emergencies. You must be 21+, have a valid driver's license with few points, and pass a DOT drug/alcohol screen and DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Follow a planned manifest and make scheduled stops to pick up and drop off passengers
• Collect fares from passengers during stops
• Assist passengers on and off the bus
• Communicate with call center for updates, emergencies, traffic, incidents
• Inspect bus daily and report mechanical issues
• Deliver fares to supervisor and complete shift reports

Job description

Responsible for operating buses in a safe and efficient manner. Transport people by bus throughout the following counties: Butts, Lamar, Pike, Spalding, and Upson Counties. In some cases, drivers will operate in Meriwether or Carroll Counties. Responsible for the safety and well-being of themselves, their passengers, and other people and pedestrians on the road.Summary of Duties:Follow a planned manifest, making scheduled stops to pick up or drop off passengersResponsible for collecting fares from passengers during stopsAssist passengers on and off the bus when help is neededCommunicate with the call center to provide updates, report emergencies, traffic patterns, or accidents/incidentsVisually inspect the bus before beginning the day’s assigned routeReport any mechanical issues with the bus, such as brakes, steering, or other issuesPrepare an observational report when the shift is finishedDeliver fares to a designated supervisor, and perform other related duties as assignedRequired Skills/Abilities:Ability to operate a transit bus safely, regardless of weather conditions (CDL is not required)General knowledge of motor vehicle lawsExcellent interpersonal and customer service skillsGeneral knowledge of vehicle maintenanceAbility to recognize mechanical problems and take appropriate actionExcellent time management skillsAbove average oral and written communicationMust not be easily distracted or become easily frustrated with mechanical issues, passenger behaviors, traffic, or dispatch requests resulting in delays and scheduling changesQualifications and Requirements:Must be 21 years of ageMust have a valid driver's license with few if any pointsAbility to pass a Background CheckPhysical Requirements:Must pass a DOT drug and alcohol screening as well as DOT PhysicalProlonged periods of operating the busMust be able to assist passengers when needed
