Job summary

Johnston Public Schools in Johnston, Rhode Island is seeking a part-time Bus Monitor to assist with student loading, safety, and daily transportation routines on morning, mid-day, and afternoon runs.

Under supervision of the Transportation Office, you will help supervise students, maintain discipline, and ensure safe boarding and exiting. Prior school transportation experience is helpful; HS diploma required and annual training attendance.

BUS MONITOR SUBS

• Morning, Mid-day and Afternoon Runs

General Description of Duties:

Under the direct supervision of the Superintendent/Designee, the purpose of the position is to perform district-based duties associated with the functions necessary for the transportation of students. Bus monitors may also be used in a temporary assignment to include the transportation of those with various degrees of disabilities. Employees in this position must function at an experienced level equal or greater to those required as described in the Johnston Public Schools Transportation Training and Reference Manual (available at Johnston Public Schools Administration Office).

Minimum Education/Training Experience/License Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED with additional education/credentials as may be required for this position.
• Attendance at Transportation Annual Training.
