Job summary

Hilliard City Schools is seeking a Bus Mechanic to perform skilled repair and preventive maintenance on a wide range of automotive and construction equipment, including installing parts, changing tires, welding, painting, and body repairs. The role is classified nonteaching and located districtwide with a schedule of 260 days per year, eight hours per day.

Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma or GED, preferably with a vocational auto/diesel program, and must have or obtain the appropriate

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prefer graduate of a vocational program in auto or diesel mechanics.
• State of Ohio certification/license required.
• State of Ohio Class B school bus and passenger endorsement, commercial driver’s license with air brake and transporting passengers; or must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and/or Board of Education may find appropriate.
