The Metropolitan Council is seeking a Bus Maintenance Administrator to provide administrative support to over 30 employees across units including Employee Development, Project Management, Training and Development, and Radio Shop Electronics. The role involves data entry, report generation, document distribution, and file organization.
Work hours are Monday to Friday during normal business hours; residence must be in Minnesota or Wisconsin.

The Bus Maintenance Administrator position reports to the Assistant Director of Bus Maintenance Administration and provides administrative support to over 30 employees across various units, including Employee Development, Project Management, Training and Development, and Radio Shop Electronics, as well as the Overhaul Base and Service Garages. Additional duties include, but are not limited to, assisting in the development of processes, preparing and distributing documents, collaborating and communicating with all service garages, tracking employee milestones, performing data entry, ordering office supplies, running and distributing reports, creating memos, and organizing and maintaining files.
The hours will be Monday – Friday during normal business hours.
For candidates newly hired into the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) contract, starting wage is set by the ATU contract. Internal hires will follow Metropolitan Council's union wage guidelines.
This position is open to both internal and external applicants however, internal candidates will receive priority.
The candidate's permanent residence must be in Minnesota or Wisconsin.

If you are new to the Metropolitan Council, you must pass a drug test (safety sensitive positions only), and a background check which verifies education, employment, and criminal history. A driving record check and/or physical may be conducted if applicable to the job. If you have a criminal conviction, you do not automatically fail. The Metropolitan Council considers felony, gross misdemeanor and misdemeanor convictions on a case-by-case basis, based on whether they are related to the job and whether the candidate has demonstrated adequate rehabilitation.
If you are already an employee of the Metropolitan Council, you must pass a drug test (if moving from a non-safety sensitive position to a safety sensitive position) and criminal background check if the job you're applying for is safety sensitive, is a supervisory or management job, is in the Finance, Information Services, Audit, or Human Resources departments, or has access to financial records, files/databases, cash, vouchers or transit fare cards. A driving record check and/or physical may be conducted if applicable to the position.
