Job summary

da Vinci Schools is seeking an energetic bus driver to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of students during transportation and field trips. The role requires a Class B CDL with Passenger and Student Endorsements, and candidates must pass background checks and a DOT exam.

BUS DRIVER

da Vinci Schools is seeking an energetic and highly motivated bus driver. This individual will have the responsibility for ensuring the health, safety and welfare of the children during bus transportation to and from the school and on field trips.

Bus Driver

Salary is based on a step scale and years of service starting at $22.00 per hour and $0.50 increase each anniversary date.
All of our drivers are also eligible for single coverage medical/dental/vision.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for transportation of students; including all responsibilities connected to operating a school bus per all applicable district policies and state/federal laws.
• Ability to relate to and work with parents, students, and other staff members.
• Conduct all pre-trip inspections as required.
• Ability to manage and maintain all students on the bus in a calm and safe manner.

Preferred Qualifications:

• K-12 Transportation experience preferred but not required
• CDL Class B with Passenger and Student Endorsement is required.

The successful candidate will:

• Have exceptional communication skills
• Have and maintain eligible driving record per all applicable district policies and state/federal laws
• Must pass State and FBI Criminal Background Check per MDE regulations and district policies
• Ability to learn and pass the state test in; pre-trip (bus and equipment), cones, student pick-up, and driving skills.
• Pass a DOT physical exam and pre-employment drug and alcohol test per DOT regulations
• Obtain a Class B Commercial Driver’s License with Passenger and School Bus Endorsements free of air-brake restriction
• Ability to tolerate stressful situations
