Sarasota County Government is seeking a part-time Bus Driver to serve adult residents and visitors in Sarasota. The position starts at $22.00/hour, with a range up to $23.50/hour based on transit driving experience.

Expect early morning to late evening shifts, with 4:30 AM to 11:00 PM operating times. Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent, a Florida Driver's License, and the ability to obtain a Class B CDL with passenger and air-brake endorsements within 90 days.

This position starts out paying $22 - 23.50/hr, based upon relevant transit driving experience.

About You

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, or its equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Applicants who currently hold a Florida Commercial Driver'sLicense (CDL), Class "B" with passenger and air-brakeendorsement.

Physical Demands:

May at times have to lift and or move up to 50 pounds.

Subject to Passing Substance Screening:

This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment for a period of five years.

About Everything Else

Work Hours:

Our operating times are 4:30 AM - 11:00 PM

• Must be able to work flexible hours/days.

• Drivers may be expected to work any combination of hours from 4:00 AM to 11:30 PM , 7 days a week.

• Please understand that once a schedule is set for the bid period, it will be all mornings or all afternoons.We offer consistent shifts throughout each week so you will know your schedule in advance and will be able to plan around it.

• Typical part-time schedules contain 8 hours shift, 3-4 days/week.

Starting Pay:

$22.00/hour, up to $23.50 - based upon relevant transit driving experience.
