Responsibilities

• Safely operate an assigned school bus for transporting students from home to school and/or to and from school-related events.
• Cooperate with school officials to provide safe and efficient transportation for students.
• Maintain an assigned schedule on a specific route and consult with the supervisor or dispatcher regarding changes.
• Maintain acceptable standards of conduct and dress.
• Maintain courteous, professional relationships with parents, students, staff and officials.
• Work the days and hours necessary to perform all duties.
• Perform related duties as assigned by the supervisor for transportation.
• Minimal travel within the City of Lynchburg.

POSITION SUMMARY

• Safely operate an assigned school bus for transporting students from home to school and/or to and from school-related events.

• Maintains an assigned schedule on a specific route and consults with the supervisor or dispatcher regarding suggested changes.

• Works the days and hours necessary to perform all assigned responsibilities and tasks.
• Performs related duties as necessary and as assigned by the supervisor for transportation.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• The candidate must be eighteen (18) years of age, at the minimum.

• Candidate must possess a current Virginia Operator's License/Commercial Drivers License (CDL) properly endorsed to operate a school bus.
