Job summary

The Coeur d'Alene Casino Resort Hotel in Plummer, ID is seeking an Experienced Bus Driver to operate shuttle services for the casino and fixed routes for City Link. This full-time position requires a valid B-class CDL with passenger endorsement (or equivalent) and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities include safe operations, pre/post inspections, defensive driving, assisting passengers, and staying informed about routes and events.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of a B-class CDL with passenger endorsement or a standard license with five years driving experience and complete a commercial driver training course within three weeks conducted by the Casino Transportation Department.
• Must have a driving record free of moving violations and accidents for the last three years.
• Must have a current DOT physical examination.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Six months previous experience as a transit or school bus driver is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, comfortable, reliable, and courteous transportation to the public.
• Ensure compliance with designated route scheduling.
• Comply with all applicable rules and traffic laws.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and vehicle checks.
• Notify manager of accidents/incidents and complete reports.
• Assist passenger loading and unloading.
• Maintain knowledge of events and routes to inform passengers.
• Attend casino and departmental meetings as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

SUMMARY

The Bus Driver will operate their assigned vehicle to provide passenger shuttle services for the Coeur d’Alene Tribal Casino and fixed route services for the FTA funded public transportation system, City Link.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide safe, comfortable, reliable, and courteous transportation service to the public utilizing Defensive Driving Techniques.
• Ensure compliance with designated route scheduling.
• Comply with all departmental, local, tribal, state, and federal rules, regulations, and traffic laws.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections including interior cleaning and inspections on buses to ensure safe mechanical operation.
• Immediately notify manager of all accidents and incidents that occur and complete all necessary reports and paperwork.
• Assist passenger loading and unloading.
• Maintain knowledge of events/activities, operation information, and route information in order to provide information to transportation customers.
• Attend all casino and departmental functions and meetings as required.
• Other projects and duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

• Must have a minimum of a B-class CDL with passenger endorsement or have a standard license issued by a state with a minimum of five years driving experience and complete a commercial driver training course within three weeks conducted by the Casino Transportation Department. All costs for license upgrades to be paid by applicant.
• Must have a driving record that is free of any moving violations and accidents for at least the last three years.
• Must have a current DOT physical examination.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Six months previous experience as a transit or school bus driver is preferred.

Skills/Knowledge

• Must have a thorough understanding of transportation vehicle components by the end of training if not already trained.
• Must work well in a team environment.
