Job summary

Transdev in Knoxville, TN is hiring a Bus Driver to ensure safe, reliable passenger transportation. The role requires a CDL Class B with passenger endorsement and a CDL Permit prior to training, with paid training provided.

Responsibilities

• Safety-Focused Operations:Follow routes and schedules with safety protocols and company standards.
• Passenger Care:Provide courteous, professional assistance and ensure safe boarding and disembarkation.
• Vehicle Safety and Maintenance:Perform pre/post trip inspections and report issues.
• Policy and Protocol Compliance:Adhere to seat-belt enforcement and regulations.
• Additional Duties:Support safe, efficient operations as needed.
• Assist passengers with disabilities and mobility aids as required.

Bus Driver

We are currently on the lookout for an experienced Bus Driver to join our elite team in Knoxville, TN . As a key member, you will be entrusted with ensuring safe and comfortable transportation for our passengers, while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and customer service.

Transdev is proud to offer:

• $18.92/hour (with a CDL Permit)

• $20.42/hour (CDL) Valid CDL Class B with passenger endorsement

Key Responsibilities

• Safety-Focused Operations: Execute safe and reliable transportation services by following designated routes and schedules while strictly adhering to safety protocols, traffic laws, and company standards.

• Passenger Care: Provide courteous, professional assistance to passengers, ensuring safe and efficient boarding, comfortable transportation, and timely disembarkation.

• Vehicle Safety and Maintenance: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, promptly report maintenance or safety concerns, and maintain high standards of vehicle cleanliness and safety-equipment readiness.

• Policy and Protocol Compliance: Consistently follow company policies and procedures, including seat-belt enforcement, emergency-response preparedness, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

• Additional Duties: Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support safe, efficient, and professional operations.

• Ability to safely assist passengers with disabilities, including supporting the use, securement, and transport of wheelchairs and other mobility aids.

Qualifications

• 21 years or older

• Must have CDL Permit before start of training.

• Valid CDL Class B with passenger and airbrake endorsement

• Paid Training - must have CDL before revenue service.

• Minimum 3 years of driving experience (personal or professional)

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

• Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.

• Subject to DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

Physical Requirements

The essential functions of this position require the ability to:

• Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone, and in remote locations.

• Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces
