Job summary

The Athenian School in California is seeking a licensed Bus Driver to safely transport students to and from school and for extracurricular activities, including field trips and airport runs.

Primary Responsibilities

We are seeking a licensed Bus Driver to safely transport students to and from school, as well as for extracurricular activities, including field trips, athletic events, and airport runs.

• Safe Transportation: Safely operate school buses and passenger vans to transport students and staff according to designated routes and schedules.

• Vehicle Inspection & Safety: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checkouts, report maintenance issues immediately to supervisors, and maintain accurate records of duty status logs.

• Communication & Rapport: Maintain clear, timely communication with the Transportation Manager and main reception regarding route status or delays. Establish positive, professional relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

• Compliance: Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, California Department of Education transportation regulations, and Athenian safety protocols.

Core Qualifications

• Experience: Demonstrated experience safely transporting students via school bus and passenger vans, with a strong track record of managing professional dynamics with students and adults.

• Licensing & Compliance: Must possess current Commercial Driver’s License (CDL Class A or B) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements, valid California Special Driver Certificate, and a clean driving record. Must maintain compliance with all state and federal driver requirements and training.
