Job description

Our Transportation Department is searching for Bus Attendants.

Essential Job Duties for Bus Attendants:
  • Maintains reasonable order during bus operation to ensure safety of all individuals.
  • Maintains safety precautions when individuals are boarding and departing the bus.
  • Assists individuals in an evacuation or other bus emergency.
  • In conjunction with the Bus Driver, makes sure no individual is left on the bus.
  • Knowledge of the bus route should help be needed by the Bus Driver.
  • Maintains the cleanliness of the inside of the bus.
  • Ensures all bags and equipment are placed in the proper storage.
  • Able to be trained in the use of the lift and tie-down systems for individuals using wheelchairs.
  • Exercises sound, effective, and appropriate intervention methods to control inappropriate behavior by individuals during bus operation and reports incidents to appropriate supervisor.
  • Promotes atmosphere of good conduct on the bus by implementing Agency rules for bus riders.
  • Participates in all in-service training programs developed by the transportation department
  • Establishes and maintains good rapport with individuals on the bus, co-workers, parents, and staff.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
