Job summary

Thornapple Kellogg Schools is seeking a Bus Aide Substitute to support transportation services in Middleville, MI. The role runs Monday through Friday during morning and afternoon shifts and serves student days only.

Responsibilities include assisting with loading/unloading, ensuring a safe bus environment, meeting special student needs, and maintaining communications with the driver. Training will be provided as needed.

Qualifications

• High school graduate.
• CPR certified or willing to be trained.
• Flexible and strong enough to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and push or pull up to 90 pounds such as students or students in wheelchairs.
• Work positively with students, staff and parents.
• Willingness to work as part of a team of professionals.
• Medical training will be provided if needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with loading and unloading of children.
• Assist the driver in maintaining a safe environment on the bus.
• Make sure that any special needs are met, which is a part of the transportation service.
• Maintain a positive communication system with the driver and transportation administration.
• Maintain strict confidentiality.
• Attend all trainings necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.
