Job summary

Royal Ambulance is seeking a Radiologic Technician for an extraordinary healthcare experience at Burning Man held in Black Rock City, NV. You will provide medical care and response in a dynamic environment from August 25th to September 7th, 2026, ensuring patient safety and collaborating with a dedicated team.

Qualifications

As a Radiologic Technician in Black Rock City, you’ll play a critical role in supporting emergency and urgent care operations in a remote, high-volume desert setting. Burning Man Details
  • Location: Black Rock Desert, NV
  • Operational Period: August 25th through September 7th 2026
Responsibilities (include but not limited to)
  • Perform diagnostic X‑ray imaging in accordance with established protocols.
  • Ensure proper patient positioning and radiation safety standards.
  • Operate and troubleshoot imaging equipment in a temporary field environment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and image archiving.
  • Collaborate with medical providers to prioritize urgent studies.
  • Support infection control and equipment maintenance procedures.
  • Adapt to high patient volume and variable operational demands.
Minimum Requirements
  • Current ARRT certification (R. T.).
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of clinical radiology experience preferred.
  • Strong teamwork, adaptability, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Must work a minimum of four (4) 12‑hour shifts during the operational period.
  • State of Nevada Certification.
  • Possess a valid American Heart Association (AHA) CPR card – BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
  • TB Test and Flu Shot (within the last 12 months, with documentation).
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in emergency, trauma, or urgent care settings strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience at Burning Man.
  • Experience working in a close‑quarters or communal living environment.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding desert environment (heat, dust, extended shifts).
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to sit, climb, balance, step, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
Occupational Safety Risk for Infection Control
  • Risk to exposure from blood‑borne pathogens – 3 High Risk.
Pay and Benefits
  • Radiology Technician temporary positions for Burning Man will be paid $30.00 per hour under Nevada state regulations.
  • Shared housing, either in a shift pod or bunkhouse, may be available on a first‑come, first‑served basis.
  • Royal will provide some meals, and preference will be given to participants who are attending or have previously attended Burning Man and can be self‑sufficient.
  • When not on duty, employees are free to enjoy everything Black Rock City has to offer.
Additional Information
  • These temporary positions will conclude on or after September 18, 2026. Employees will receive a credential allowing them to enter the event.
  • The employee will regularly work with confidential patient and personnel information.
  • The employee must maintain composure and tact in stressful situations.
  • They must communicate effectively in writing, verbally, and through radio and telephone communications.
  • Additionally, they must demonstrate compassion and a sincere dedication to patient needs, concerns, and information confidentiality.
