Job summary

Uni-Form Components Corp. is seeking an experienced Burner Operator to join our manufacturing team. You will set up and operate CNC burn equipment to cut and bevel steel plate, review specs, and position material for production.

You will monitor the process, replace torch tips, and verify dimensions while using overhead cranes and forklifts as needed. A strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of manufacturing or industrial experience.
• Experience operating CNC burn tables, plasma/oxy-fuel cutting equipment, or similar steel-processing equipment.
• Experience setting up equipment, loading programs, and torch tips.
• Ability to read work orders, drawings, measurements, and specifications.
• Experience with varying sizes and thicknesses of steel plate.
• Overhead crane and forklift experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, safety and quality.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently and in a team.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Set up, program, and operate CNC burn equipment.
• Review work orders, drawings, and cutting requirements.

• Position material accurately and verify dimensions.
• Monitor cutting process and ensure specifications match.
• Replace torch tips and identify cut material.

• Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
• Maintain a tidy work area and follow PPE standards.
• Support production with additional duties as needed.

Job description

Uni-Form Components is looking for an experienced, safety-focused Burner Operator to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for setting up and operating burn equipment to cut and bevel steel plate of various sizes and thicknesses according to production requirements.

What You'll Do

• Set up, program, and operate CNC burn equipment.
• Review work orders, drawings, and cutting requirements.
• Load programs and prepare the machine for production.
• Locate plate edges and properly position material for cutting.
• Monitor the cutting process and verify dimensions against specifications.
• Select, clean, and replace torch tips as needed.
• Properly identify and mark cut material.
• Use overhead cranes to load, position, and remove steel plate.
• Grind and bevel plate edges as required.
• Perform routine burn table cleanup, including removing debris and replacing slats.
• Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow all safety procedures and required PPE standards.
• Perform other duties as needed to support production.

What We're Looking For

• At least 1 year of manufacturing or industrial experience.
• Previous experience operating CNC burn tables, plasma/oxy-fuel cutting equipment, or similar steel-processing equipment strongly preferred.
• Experience setting up equipment, loading programs, and working with torch tips.
• Ability to read work orders, drawings, measurements, and specifications.
• Experience working with steel plate of varying sizes and thicknesses preferred.
• Overhead crane and forklift experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, safety, and quality.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work overtime as business needs require.
