Job summary

Regions Hospital has an opportunity for a per diem Burn and Trauma Registrar to join our team. This role maintains burn, adult, and pediatric trauma registries, ensuring data completeness and accuracy and managing chart abstraction processes.

Responsibilities include collecting medical records, assisting with BCQP submissions, and troubleshooting registry software/hardware. The successful candidate will support a warm, inclusive team committed to high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved two year or four-year Health Information Management or Nursing Program.
• Eligibility for registration through the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).
• 2–3 years of experience with coding and/or abstraction will substitute for the HIM/ Nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Validate and ensure data completeness and accuracy for burn, adult, and pediatric trauma registries.
• Order, collect, review, and maintain medical records needed for chart abstraction.
• Assist in submission of burn data to the Burn Care Quality Platform (BCQP) registry system.
• Troubleshoot software/hardware issues related to the Burn registry.
• Other duties as assigned.
