Job summary

The Joseph M. Still Burn Centers, Inc. in Augusta, GA is seeking a patient services assistant who will facilitate burn calls, document and route calls, and maintain medical records following HIPAA and other regulations.

This role requires bilingual English/Spanish, a high school diploma or GED, and 1–3 years of related experience. The position is full-time and on-site with standard clinic hours.

Responsibilities

• Answer and transfer calls according to established protocols.
• Scan and upload patient information into charts via EHR System.
• Must work as a team player and be willing to assist other team members with other duties.
• Take on new duties as needed.
• Performs other job-related duties as required by Management.
• Distribution of facility faxes and electronic faxes.
• Assisting with chart reviews, gathering patient information, then distribute it to the respective insurance representative.
• Medical interpretation.
• Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
• Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
• Participate in education sessions specific to corporate needs or job duties – locally or remotely, as needed.
• Provide training to other employees – locally or remotely, as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Participate in all mandatory trainings relating to applicable healthcare laws and regulations, and demonstrate full compliance with those regulations, including without limitation, HIPAA, OSHA, OIG, Federal, State and local laws and regulations.

Job Purpose:
