Santa Clara Valley Healthcare (SCVH), a large public teaching healthcare system, affiliated with Stanford University School of Medicine, is seeking a full-time BC Plastic or General Surgeon who has completed their burn fellowship training and has qualifications in Surgical Critical Care, to serve as the Burn Center Medical Director, in our Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic/Burn Surgery.

Santa Clara Valley Healthcare (SCVH) is the second-largest County-owned health and hospital system in California and is committed to improving the health of the 1.9 million people of Santa Clara County. SCVH comprises four hospitals: Santa Clara Valley Medical Center (SCVMC - a 731-bed central hospital), O’Connor Hospital (OCH - 358 licensed beds), Saint Louise Regional Hospital (SLRH – 93 licensed beds) and Regional Medical Center (RMC - 258 licensed beds). Providers in our health system also have the opportunity to use our integrated electronic health record (Epic), which brings together systemwide patient information. The Burn Center at SCVMC is verified by the ABA for children and adults, treating 300 inpatients a year and over 1,200 outpatients. SCVMC is a 731-bed tertiary care facility, and the only combined ACS Level 1 Trauma Center and Burn Center for the San Francisco Bay Area. Comprehensive, multidisciplinary burn care is paramount for the Burn Center at SCVMC which is home to the #1 ranked rehabilitation program in the Western US.
The Medical Director will provide clinical and programmatic leadership for the burn center, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to quality improvement, education, and program development. The position includes the opportunity to teach Stanford plastic surgery residents and pursue an Affiliate Faculty appointment at Stanford University.
