Job summary

Shirley Contracting Company, LLC is seeking a motivated Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team on multiple Virginia job sites. You will operate excavators, loaders, dozers and motor graders, perform routine maintenance and keep equipment clean while meeting safety standards.

We offer an hourly wage between $22.00 and $35.00, with benefits including health/dental/vision/life insurance, 401(k) with company match, paid time off and paid holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience running heavy equipment (an onsite try-out will be conducted)
• GPS/UTS experience, preferred
• Work in outdoor environments in all seasons
• Must pass pre-employment physical/drug screening

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, dozers and motor graders
• Perform general maintenance including greasing, checking fluid levels, and cleaning of tracks
• Daily cleaning of equipment
• Report deficiencies to foreman immediately
• Must be willing to perform manual labor related tasks to support projects
• Ensure the company’s health and safety culture, policies and requirements are met
• Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with customer and co-workers

Job Type: Full-Time, Year-Round

Location: Southern Virginia; Various Jobsites

Working Hours: Start varies between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM. Overtime, nights and weekends may be required.

Applicants must be 18 years of age and currently authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis in order to be considered.

For this role the hourly range is $22.00-$35.00. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. Base pay is one part of the Total Compensation Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
