Overview of Responsibilities

The Bulk Manager at Sprouts Farmers Market is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, packing, and stocking of all bulk foods featured at Sprouts.

• Follow the merchandising Bulk plan and ensure the team is properly packaging and scaling bulk items, filling bulk bins, preparing, wrapping, and pricing bulk packages accurately and legibly.
• Order and maintain inventory, rotate product using code dates, and follow the company’s cleaning and sanitation program.
• Oversee the department’s compliance with all company and governmental safety, health, Weights & Measures, and COOL compliance regulations.
• Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members.
• Provide a high level of customer service.
• Ensure bulk items are properly prepared, packaged and presented, and that the bulk area is clean and orderly at all times.
• Receive, unload, and stock merchandise as needed throughout the day.
• Engage and evaluate team members through coaching, feedback, and one‑on‑one development discussions, and make recommendations on merit increases via completing the bi‑annual performance review process.
• Attend and participate in in‑store meetings.
• Recruit, hire and make promotion/transfer decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager.
• Exercise independent judgment to address team‑member concerns.
• Take and document corrective actions when needed, including collaboration with business and HR partners in managing performance to include coaching, counseling, progressive discipline, suspension, or termination when required.
• Ensure maximum productivity and efficiency by creating and adjusting schedules and staffing levels.
• Lead a team that collaborates to deliver the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest experience to customers.
• Serve as a key carrier for the store and/or act as a Manager on Duty (MOD) as needed.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Have 1–2 years of experience in a retail grocery environment and 1 year of managerial leadership experience.
• Be dependable and reliable, able to work a flexible schedule that changes—including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Know weekly ad items and be able to give customers direction of product location throughout the store; perform general housekeeping in the department.
• Possess a working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals.
• Show outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude toward team members and customers.
• Be able to move vertically/horizontally transferring product weighing up to 50 lbs., from 4” to 36”, for a distance up to 4 feet for up to 15 hours without mechanical assistance. This role requires continuous standing for up to 4 hours, for a total of 8 hours per shift.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Pay range

The pay range for this position is $18.55—$27.75 per hour. Sprouts Farmers Market determines pay based on applicable experience and qualifications.
