Job summary

Verizon is seeking a maintenance expert for HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems in Woburn, Massachusetts. You'll ensure building systems operate at maximum efficiency, performing repairs and maintenance as needed.

Job description

What you’ll be doing

You're an expert with HVAC, plumbing, electrical and even building mechanicals, and if there's a maintenance problem with our building, you've got it covered! Your know-how and commitment to excellence will ensure that Verizon's building systems always operate at maximum efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Starting, operating, repairing and maintaining various types of heating and air conditioning, plumbing, carpentry, locksmith, electrical and other building related systems equipment.
• Performing major repairs and replacements of mechanical plant equipment.
• Install, repair and calibrate various makes of pneumatic and/or electric controls required for the operation of equipment and the control of temperature and humidity.
• Performing inspections and making repairs on equipment/systems as required by company practices and/or regulations/ordinances.
• Reviewing and interpreting work order requests, operating instructions, diagrams, building plans and mechanical equipment drawings.
• Follow established Verizon safety practices and procedures.
• Climbing ladders, working aloft, and moving/lifting items generally not exceeding 100 lbs.
• Perform inspections and make repairs on equipment or systems as required by Verizon practices and/or Federal, State and local regulations and ordinances. Post current certificates and permits as required.
• May need to perform additional duties and tasks as required by the Company.
• Work tour hours are 6am to 3pm, Monday through Friday (hours may vary). Overtime is as needed by the Company.

Qualifications

• Two (2) year Associate degree or equivalent certification from a technical or vocational school in ventilating, air conditioning, plumbing, electrical work and heating plant operations and maintenance.
• Minimum of two (2) years' experience in ventilating and air conditioning, plumbing, electrical work and heating plant operations and maintenance.
• Universal Technician Certification as designated by EPA regulations-40 CFR Part 82 Subpart H.
• Valid state driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Results obtained in standard tests for this position must meet minimum requirements established by the Company, in accordance with Company policy.
• Must meet safety-related requirements including but not limited to those standards of safety imposed by OSHA, state agencies, manufacturers and/or the company.
• Medical evaluation is required. Must be able to perform physical requirements of the job, with or without a reasonable accommodation, including, but not limited to, lifting, carrying and maneuvering heavy equipment weighing up to 100 lbs.
• Must be available to work scheduled tours designated by the Collective Bargaining Agreement and/or the needs of the business. Associates may be required to work evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, non-scheduled and non-consecutive days, as the needs of the business require. Tours are subject to change at any time based on the needs of the business and that are in accord with labor contract requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Recent experience performing maintenance and repairs on commercial HVAC equipment.

Compensation for this position can be as high as $53.14/hour. The salary will vary depending on your confirmed job-related skills and experience.

The weekly wage range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $776.50 - $2,125.50.
