Lamar University is seeking a Building Trades Assistant to perform skilled and semi-skilled building maintenance, repair, and renovation work across multiple trades on campus facilities. The role supports carpentry, masonry, welding, painting, and roofing tasks, with supervision from the Building Trades Supervisor within Facilities Maintenance.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and at least two years of related experience.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two (2) years of experience in building maintenance or related trades.
• Valid Driver’s license.
• Two years of related experience as stated.

Responsabilidades

• Perform skilled and semi-skilled maintenance and construction work across trades.
• Inspect and repair building components, conduct preventive maintenance.
• Assist with renovations and structural projects (doors, walls, roofing, etc.).
• Operate hand/power tools, welding equipment, ladders, and scaffolding.
• Respond to service requests and document activities in CMMS.
• Follow safety policies and participate in emergency repairs as needed.
