Job summary

Nassau Financial Group in Hartford, CT is seeking a Corporate Security Officer to maintain a safe and secure workplace for associates, tenants, visitors and the public. You will protect Nassau’s physical assets and demonstrate a high level of professionalism at all times.

Responsibilities include greeting guests, controlling access, patrolling interiors/exteriors, monitoring CCTV and alarms, and investigating incidents. Requires CT guard card, 3–5 years in security, and weekend availability.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to interact with associates, tenants, visitors and the public in a professional and courteous manner.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Active listening skills.
• Possess a valid State of Connecticut Guard Card CPR / AED / Basic First Aid Certification, or ability to pass certification after onsite training.
• 3–5 years in security, law enforcement, military, emergency management or customer service.
• Knowledge of security access control, alarms, CCTV and PA systems.
• Ability to identify, evaluate and respond to critical issues and document findings.

Responsibilities

• Greet associates, tenants and visitors with a positive attitude.
• Maintain a cooperative work environment and organized reception area.
• Provide direction and assistance in a timely, courteous manner.
• Ensure building and occupant safety and conduct tours.
• Control access and monitor badges, sign-in sheets and CCTV.
• Operate security, alarm, access control systems and door controls.
• Respond to incidents and file security reports as needed.
• Monitor HVAC, fire and elevator alarms and assist as required.
• Be familiar with emergency procedures and participate in drills.
