NWABSD seeks a Building Plant Operator in Alaska to manage operation and preventive maintenance of the site environmental systems and physical plant equipment. You will ensure reliable heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, and oversee energy usage.

The role reports to the Principal and Director of Property Services, with duties including record-keeping, equipment servicing, and occasional site transportation. Salary and year may be set by the NWABSD Board of Education.

Qualificações

• Aptitude and desire to learn building trades and building systems.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Driver's license preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Regulates HVAC systems to provide a season-appropriate environment and efficient energy use.
• Inspects and services all site equipment on a regular basis per preventive maintenance schedules.
• Maintains accurate records on preventive maintenance and keeps inventory of supplies and fuel on hand.
• Operates site vehicles for transportation of personnel and materials as required.
• Overtime may be required; other duties as assigned by supervisor.

REPORTS TO:

Principal and Director of Property Services

JOB GOAL:

To be responsible for the operation and preventative maintenance of the site building environmental systems and physical plant equipment.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Regulates heating, ventilating, air conditioning systems to provide an environment in buildings appropriate to the season and to ensure economical usage of fuel, water and electricity, inspects and services all site equipment on a regular basis per preventive maintenance schedules, maintains accurate and current records on preventive maintenance performed on site equipment, keeps an inventory of supplies, equipment and fuel on hand for operation and preventive maintenance of site equipment, and requisitions needed items from the principal or designated building manager in a timely manner, routinely tests and certifies all emergency power and fire equipment, operates site vehicles for transportation of personnel and materialsto and from the airport and elsewhere about the site as required, works overtime when required, other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Salary and work year to be established by the NWABSD Board of Education.
