The Building Official serves as a key leader within the City of Decatur, overseeing permitting, plan review, inspections, and code enforcement to support safe, efficient, and high-quality development throughout the community. This role combines technicalexpertise, strategic leadership, customer service, and operational oversight to ensure compliance with adopted building standards while supporting the City’s long-term development goals.
