City of Marysville, WA seeks a seasoned building official to lead the Building Division within the Community Development Department. You will oversee plan reviews, inspections, and enforcement of the Marysville Municipal Code, coordinating with Fire Districts and external agencies while guiding staff and budgets.
You will supervise staff, set goals, evaluate performance, and ensure high technical standards and accurate outcomes for all building projects.
This position manages the operations of the Building Division within the Community Development Department and serves as the technical authority for administering Title 16 and associated titles of the Marysville Municipal Code including building and electrical plan review, inspections, and enforcement. Responsibilities include coordinating assigned activities with other departments, the Fire District, and outside agencies, and providing highly responsible and technically complex staff assistance to the department director.
This is a supervisory position whose work product requires a high level of professional knowledge and technical expertise, accuracy, and independent judgment and problem-solving of complex problems; incumbent sets broad objectives and is accountable for overall results in respective areas of responsibility.
