Job summary

Nebraska Furniture Mart is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician II in The Colony, TX. This full-time role operates on a rotating 12-hour schedule from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., with weekly rotation and a three-day weekend every other week.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in building maintenance or similar roles.
• Basic safety knowledge and tool use required.

Responsibilities

• Replace lights and ballasts in fixtures and retrofit upgrades.
• Repair plumbing fixtures and maintain plumbing systems.
• Perform routine and corrective repairs on mechanical/HVAC systems.
• Maintain records of inspections, maintenance and repairs in a CMMS.
• Support maintenance of mechanical rooms and equipment.

Job Duties: A Day in the Life

• Replace: Lights and ballasts in fluorescent fixtures while upgrading to higher efficiency retrofit.
• Repair: Plumbing fixtures, unclog drains and maintain plumbing systems.
• Preform: Corrective, routine and requisitioned repairs of minor problems with mechanical and HVAC systems.
• Collaborate: Maintain routine records of all inspections, maintenance and repairs performed on any equipment or system, within a computer based management system.
• Support: Maintain mechanical rooms and equipment.

Qualifications: Can You Check These Boxes?

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• 1 year building maintenance, custodial, general or labor experience
• Technical or trade school classes in related field
• Basic carpentry skills and electrical knowledge preferred
• Knowledge and observance of safety precautions
• knowledge of how to use and maintain power tools, hand tools and equipment
• Painting skills and plumbing knowledge preferred
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
• Ability to work night, weekend and/or early morning hours based on business needs.
