Job summary

University of Toledo is seeking a Building Operator to perform skilled HVAC/R, plumbing, electrical, steam system maintenance and general upkeep of assigned buildings and facilities on campus. The role includes preventative maintenance and organizing upkeep of equipment, vehicles and spaces.

The position requires 3–5 years in relevant trades, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to read manuals and blueprints. Weekend and holiday coverage is part of the schedule.

Qualifications

• Requires 3–5 years in HVAC/R, electrical, plumbing, or general maintenance.
• Maintains a valid driver’s license and must be insurable under university policies.
• Ability to read blueprints, manuals and follow technical instructions; physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled HVAC/R, plumbing, electrical, steam system maintenance and operation, and housekeeping/maintenance.
• Preventative maintenance on all building systems and components; schedule and organize upkeep of buildings, grounds, and equipment.
