Job summary

Colonial Electric Supply in King of Prussia, PA is seeking a Building Maintenance Mechanic to perform routine building and equipment maintenance at our King of Prussia location. You will report to Facilities Manager and work with vendors to ensure timely, safe repairs and upkeep of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and carpentry systems.

You will handle painting, cleaning, inventory, and administrative duties, respond to emergency calls, and may work outside normal hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 2+ years in maintenance.
• Familiarity with small motor machines and routine repairs.
• Ability to interpret safety rules and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine building maintenance (painting, minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC).
• Clean interior and exterior of building, machinery, and equipment.
• Complete administrative duties and report maintenance status to supervisor.
• Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and report needs to supervisor.
• Respond to emergency maintenance calls and diagnose issues.
• Collaborate with contracted vendors as needed.
• Occasionally work outside normal hours.

Summary

The Maintenance Associate is responsible for fulfilling all maintenance duties assigned for the King of Prussia location of Colonial Electric Supply. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, they will work in conjunction with the Facilities Manager and the Director of Operations to ensure all tasks are performed correctly & within the appropriate time frame.

• Perform routine building maintenance duties, including painting, minor electrical repairs, plumbing, carpentry, and heating and ventilation systems maintenance
• Clean interior of the building, as well as machinery and equipment, and exterior of the building
• Complete administrative duties, such as filling out forms and reporting maintenance statuses to supervisor
• Comply with all safety and health regulations
• Keep inventory of maintenance and cleaning supplies and equipment, and report needs to supervisor
• Respond to emergency calls for maintenance and repairs
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues
• Work with and maintain relationships with contracted vendors
• May be required to work outside of normal work hours

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2+ years of experience
• Basic familiarity with the repair & maintenance of small motor machines
• The ability to manage time effectively
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems (including relevant equipment and tools) is a plus
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time; ability to bend, kneel, stoop, and lift or move heavy equipment
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and other manuals and documents
