Evergreen Senior Living is seeking a Building Maintenance technician to perform routine upkeep, repairs, and safety inspections across our Michigan facilities. You will support residents and staff, coordinate with vendors, and help with event setups as needed.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, record-keeping, and safe operation of tools and equipment. Valid driver's license and ability to lift 50+ lbs required, with full-time daytime hours.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years in general maintenance or facilities experience; healthcare/senior living is a plus.
• Must pass background check.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain chauffeur’s license.

Responsabilidades

• Perform routine maintenance tasks including painting, light plumbing, electrical repairs, carpentry, and HVAC system checks.
• Conduct regular inspections of building systems to ensure functionality and safety.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders from staff or residents.
• Assist in setup/breakdown of furniture or equipment for facility events or resident needs.
• Perform preventative maintenance on facility equipment per schedules.
• Maintain records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance work completed.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or installations.
• Assist with emergency response during power outages, inclement weather, or urgent repair needs.
• Support housekeeping or groundskeeping teams as needed to maintain a clean facility.
• Provide occasional transportation for residents to medical appointments using company vehicles.

Position Summary:

Building Maintenance is responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, repairs, and to support the overall upkeep, safety, and functionality of our facility. This position is essential in ensuring a well-maintained, welcoming, and secure environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks including painting, light plumbing, electrical repairs, carpentry, and HVAC system checks.

• Conduct regular inspections of building systems (interior and exterior) to ensure functionality and safety.

• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders from staff or residents.

• Assist in the setup and breakdown of furniture or equipment for facility events or resident needs.

• Perform preventative maintenance on facility equipment and systems according to schedules.

• Maintain records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance work completed.

• Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety regulations, building codes, and facility standards.

• Coordinate with vendors and contractors as necessary for specialized repairs or installations.

• Assist with emergency response efforts during power outages, inclement weather, or urgent repair needs.

• Support the housekeeping or groundskeeping teams as needed to maintain a clean and orderly facility.

• Provide occasional transportation for residents to medical appointments using company vehicles.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Basic knowledge of building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry.

• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.

• Ability to troubleshoot issues and perform repairs safely and efficiently.

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills, especially with elderly residents.

• Reliable, responsible, and committed to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• 1+ years of experience in general maintenance, or facilities experience; experience in a healthcare or senior living environment is a plus.

• Basic knowledge of building systems and groundskeeping practices.

• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

• Valid driver’s license required; ability to obtain a chauffeur’s license.

• Must pass background check.

Physical Requirements:

• Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb ladders as needed.

• Ability to climb and work from ladders up to 15 feet in height.

• Ability to operate hand and power tools safely.

• Frequently required to climb ladders or stairs.

• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.

Pay:

$17.50 - $20.00 per hour
