Responsibilities

• Performs inspections of new construction and renovations to ensure code compliance.
• Enters daily inspection requests and results in computer; maintains files.
• Enforces International Building codes including Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical, Fire, Property Maintenance, and other state and local codes as adopted.
• Researches, interprets, and explains codes to architects, engineers, contractors, developers, and others as requested.
• Ability to communicate with the public in a professional manner.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Two (2) years of experience in IBC related inspections, or closely related field; and at least four certifications (either in commercial or residential) in: Building, Electrical, Mechanical, and Plumbing.
