CDM Smith seeks an experienced CAD/BIM professional to lead teams in creating intelligent models and construction drawings using CADD and Revit in a collaborative project environment. You will ensure model integrity, coordinate across disciplines, and support project engineers throughout the lifecycle.

Ideal candidates bring 6 years of relevant work, strong attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate multi-discipline models while applying firm standards and client requirements.

Qualificações

• High School diploma or equivalent with vocational technical training in basic CADD drafting technology and intelligent modeling.
• 6 years of relevant experience. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Must have Revit experience.
• Must have experience modeling industrial electrical systems.

Job Description

• Under light supervision, leads teams to prepare basic to highly complex construction drawings using intelligent modeling and/or CADD which may include multiple views, detail drawings, and assembly drawings indicating components of equipment, facilities, or systems through proper translation of level of design (LOD) definitions as applicable.
• Utilizes advanced CADD drafting/design techniques per the firm’s CADD Graphics Standards.
• Utilizes information from vendors, catalogs, technical manuals, etc.in the preparation of intelligent models and construction drawings.
• Performs CADD/technical support tasks such as verifying intelligent model integrity.
• Acts as Intelligent Modeling Coordinator for basic complexity projects during the project lifecycle to ensure coordination between the design team and adherence to firm’s Q/QC standards and procedures.
• Performs basic checking and/or verification tasks including review of junior staff documents to ensure consistency throughout the construction documents and adherence to company standards and procedures.
• Performs related discipline tasks in support of project engineer, such as reviewing and coordinating specifications, compiling and computing engineering data, initiating basic design tasks, verifying intelligent model integrity, plotting drawings, assembling drawing packages, preparing transmittals, preparing overnight packages, file management and/or filing prints, distributing drawings, making simple calculations.
• Performs other duties as required.
• Supports field assignments as required.

Skills & Abilities

• Excellent communication skills with strict attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to be an effective team member and contributor.
• Advanced proficiency in Intelligent Modeling/CADD applications and drafting/design techniques.
• Ability to apply firm, client, and industry standards and codes.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and discipline-specific design software.

Qualifications

• Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.

• Must have experience modeling industrial electrical systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience modeling electrical substations is a bonus
• Experience coordinating multi-discipline models.
• Experience managing Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) / BIM 360 environments.
• Experience verifying model compliance with client standards.
• Experience supporting project delivery milestones.
• Experience facilitating coordination among engineering and construction stakeholders.
• Experience developing quantity takeoffs, constructability reviews, and digital turnover packages.

Additional Pay Range Information

CDM Smith is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This pay range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels for the geographic location assigned to the position. In addition to geographic location, a candidate’s salary is determined by several other factors including, but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, relevant work experience, skills, required certifications, and education/training.

Additional Compensation

All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
