Job ResponsibilitiesTrident Technical College is seeking a dedicated Building & Grounds Manager to lead the planning, maintenance, and beautification of campus landscapes and building exteriors across all college locations. This role provides leadership to the grounds team, manages service contracts, and ensures safe, welcoming, and well‑maintained outdoor environments that support students, employees, and visitors.This position reports to Facilities leadership and plays a key role in emergency preparedness and response.
This position requires an associate degree in horticulture or a closely related field, along with at least three (3) years of managerial or supervisory experience directly related to grounds or landscape operations. A valid South Carolina driver’s license is required. The selected candidate must possess, or be able to obtain and maintain within one year of hire, a South Carolina pesticide license/Commercial Grounds Applicator license.
Preferred candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in a related field and experience maintaining large, diverse landscapes such as college campuses, resorts, wetlands, or golf courses. The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of landscape engineering and design principles, groundskeeping and maintenance standards, relevant safety practices, and personnel, procurement, and budgeting practices within state government. Experience with on‑the‑job training and staff development is also desirable. Strong leadership, communication, organization, and customer service skills are essential for success in this role.
