Contract Details

• Position Type: Contract
• Contract Duration: 3 months with possible extension
• Start: As Soon As Possible
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Overtime as needed; on-call for emergencies only)

Overview of Work Environment

This role is based at a full industrial site and is physically demanding. Candidates must be comfortable walking up and down stairs throughout the day and working independently. Full safety gear is required and provided, including steel-toe boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, and cut-resistant gloves.

About the Role

As a Building Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and repairing building system operations and the performance of multiple facility areas, including plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling. This role is part of the Engineering and Technical Services function and focuses on preventive maintenance, system reliability, and safe operations.

What You’ll Do

• Perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire/life safety, and control systems
• Ensure building systems meet applicable standards, codes, and safety regulations
• Assist with and execute preventive maintenance programs
• Perform emergency repairs as needed
• Maintain energy management practices to ensure efficient system operation
• Follow policies for safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials
• Conduct inspections of fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing systems
• Apply technical knowledge to resolve complex maintenance issues
• Work independently while supporting broader facility operations
• Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment
