Job summary

Lincoln Property Company is seeking a Building Engineer I in Plano, TX to maintain HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems while handling tenant service requests during normal business hours. Qualifications

• 2-3 years of job-related experience or commensurate certification/trade experience.
• Engineering and trade licenses required per local, state, or national requirements.
• CFC Certification preferred.
• Developing familiarity with HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems; gaining experience with BAS operation and troubleshooting.
• Basic skills with Microsoft Office Outlook and laptop/phone applications for work order systems, email, and training platforms.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds; physically demanding tasks.
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.

• Troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions and escalated issues as needed.
• Replace light fixtures, filters, and other components as required.

• Conduct property inspections to identify deficiencies; assist with preventive maintenance tasks and contractor oversight.
• Follow safety protocols and use PPE; ensure OSHA, NEC, NFPA compliance; report hazards and participate in safety audits.
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergencies; support recovery efforts during severe weather and system outages.
• Interact with tenants, contractors, and property managers; work with senior engineers and technicians.
• Develop technical skills with senior engineers; participate in professional development.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job description

The Building Engineer I is responsible for maintaining, operating, and troubleshooting building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems. This role focuses on performing routine maintenance tasks, responding to tenant requests, and ensuring systems operate safely under the guidance of senior engineers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance, repairs, and inspections of building systems.
• Address service requests, including hot/cold calls, plumbing issues, and lighting repairs.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions and escalated issues as needed.
