Job summary

Accesso is seeking a Building Engineer to perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on commercial real estate systems. You will work under limited supervision, applying multiple trade skills including HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and painting to keep our properties operating smoothly.

The role requires strong communication with tenants and vendors, ability to handle on-call emergencies, and solid experience with building automation and EMS tools.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of related experience in commercial building maintenance.
• Familiar with INET BAS preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on building systems.
• Monitor building system operations under limited supervision.
• Utilize carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating and cooling skills.
• Complete daily work orders and maintenance logs.
• Respond to after-hours on-call emergencies.
• Communicate clearly with tenants and vendors.

• Operate access and lighting controls and life-safety systems.
• Assist with routine building maintenance tasks.
• Maintain safety and courtesy towards occupants.

Job description

We are a solutions-driven property management company, managing a portfolio of commercial real estate properties (office).

The Building Engineer will utilize advanced skills to perform complex preventive maintenance and corrective repair of building systems, equipment, and grounds. Working under limited supervision monitors building system operations and performance. Utilizes several trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling.

Responsibilities

• Able to perform the physical requirements of the position; climbing ladders, bending, stooping, lift/carry minimum of 50 pounds, raise arms over head, perform overhead work, work effectively at heights
• Available to work occasional overtime and provide after hours on-call emergency response
• Have demonstrated proficiency and experience in utilizing current technology tools (hardware and software)
• Possess clear and effective written and verbal communication skills, as well as adequate hearing and visual acuity.
• Develop and maintain a courteous and service-oriented rapport with all customers (tenants, building occupants, vendors, client, co-workers)
• Have strong, demonstrated experience operating and troubleshooting HVAC systems and controls
• Completes daily work orders, preventative maintenance and repair records as required
• After hours on-call emergency response
• Operate building systems, including but not limited to, access and lighting controls, fire and life safety systems
• Effectively perform or direct to be performed routine building maintenance and repair tasks
• Professionally and effectively interact with tenant Facility personnel
• Effectively interact with and direct contracted service providers
• Effectively respond to and resolve tenants service calls

Education

• High School Diploma or Equivalent

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of related experience in commercial building maintenance or closely related field with some project supervision experience.
• Familiar with INET BAS- preferred

Compensation

Commensurate based on qualifications & experience per hour
