Job summary

Intertek is seeking a Building Enclosure Project Specialist to join the Building Science Solutions team in Cleveland, Ohio. The role supports design and construction phases, including enclosure consulting, commissioning, and evaluations of existing buildings.

The position involves field testing, QA observations, and coordination across projects with approximately 25% travel. The typical schedule is Monday–Friday, 8–5 PM, with opportunities for professional growth within Intertek’s Building

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Architectural Engineering with 2+ years’ Building Enclosure experience, OR 7+ years’ Building Enclosure experience in lieu of a degree.
• Working knowledge of building construction, roofing, and other building enclosure systems.
• Construction administration, progress observation and site inspection experience.
• Ability to efficiently work on multiple projects in a team environment.

Intertek’s Building Science Solutions(BSS) group is primarily focused on building enclosure consulting, commissioning, and field performance testing for new construction and retrofit projects.

What are we looking for?

The Project Specialist assistsproject teams through design and construction phases, supporting new construction enclosure consulting and commissioning, as well as evaluations, investigations, and repairs of existing buildings.This position will travelfrequentlywithin and outside the local area, depending on workloads and project locations;estimate is25%.

Shift/Schedule:

Monday – Friday, 8-5PM

Whatyou’lldo:

• Completefield performance testing and water leakage testing of roofing and waterproofing systems, windows,air barriers,curtain walls, and other building elements
• Perform quality assurance observations andmonitorthe construction process to assure that roofingand building enclosure related projectsstay in compliance with approved construction drawings, specifications, and warranty stipulated installation procedures
• Performconstruction administration services and site visitsat construction jobsites
• Assistwith/perform forensic investigations and documentation of existing conditions including wall claddings, windows, curtain wall systems, roofs, skylights, plaza waterproofing and below grade elements, etc.
• Prepare professionally written field reports
• Learn to perform buildingenclosure reviews of architectural drawings, shopdrawingsand submittals
• Learn to prepare sketches and details using Bluebeam and hand-drawn techniques

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Architectural Engineering with 2+ years’ experience in Building Enclosure OR;
• 7+ years’ experience in Building Enclosure in lieu of degree
• Workingknowledgeofbuildingconstruction, roofing, and other building enclosure systems
• Construction administration, progressobservationand site inspection experience
• Ability toefficiently work on multiple projects, simultaneously, in a team environment
• Excellent organizational and project management skillswithdemonstratedability to meet deadlines
• Consistent and professional interaction and communication
• Field experience or strong interest in working onsite
• Ability to perform office tasks and physical labor tasks
• Ability toobservework from ladders,boom-lifts, scaffolds, swing stages, roofs, etc.
• Ability to travelfrequentlywithin and outside the local area, depending on workloads and project locations, estimate 25% travel time
• ValidDriver’sLicense and reliable driving record

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

• Safety Training / Aerial Lift Certification
