• Experience or apprenticeship in building inspection.

Responsibilities

• Conducts building inspections for code compliance (commercial and residential).
• Issues stop-orders as needed until compliance is achieved.
• Prepares and maintains inspection records and enters data into computer systems.
• Discusses code violations with builders and homeowners; suggests solutions.
• Responds to code-related questions and enforces sign and zoning ordinances.
• Assists customers in person and by phone with the inspection process.
