Job summary

Siemens is hiring a Building Automation Systems Specialist to manage centralized control of a building's HVAC, lighting, and other systems using BAS. The role requires traveling 50–75% across the Midwest and supporting sites including Chicago, IL and nearby states.

You will participate in startup, commissioning, and documentation while working under a Supervisor and mentor. Strong electromechanical background and MS Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Electro-mechanical experience and PC/software skills.
• 1+ year building automation or electrical experience.
• Ability to read and understand design/construction docs.
• Willing to work in varied environments, including ladders and tight spaces.
• Able to differentiate wire colors and use basic tools.
• Team player with a customer focus.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
• English verbal and written skills.
• Valid driver's license and 21+ years old; authorized to work in the U.S.
• Willing to travel 50–75% overnight.

Responsibilities

• Assist with building automation system startup, ensuring systems and components meet customer requirements.
• Collaborate with team; report to Supervisor; follow mentor and Lead Technician direction.
• Assist with commissioning new Distributed Digital Control System on construction sites; verify systems function as required.
• Document commissioning details; communicate deficiencies and progress.
• Plan work with mentor, Lead Technician, and Team Leader; complete commissioning within timelines.
• Submit accurate time-keeping daily and expenses weekly.
• Work overtime as needed.
• Travel overnight within the Midwest region as required.
