Job summary

Trane in NYC / LI is hiring a Building Automation Area Service Manager to lead service contracts, system upgrades, repairs, and lifetime connectivity with customers. You will oversee field service coordination, manage technicians, and support sales through contract pricing on parts and service.

Responsibilities include coordinating service activities, training staff, optimizing cash flow through invoicing, and driving improvements in customer experience while ensuring safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in an industrial sales business setting.
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in managing teams of people, processes, and budgets.
• Knowledge of HVAC Controls and Building Automation Systems preferred.
• Knowledge of Salesforce preferred.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations included.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the service coordination function to respond efficiently to customers, ensure technicians’ training and skill level is appropriately balanced to service customers, and leverage resources across the area.
• Attract, coach, counsel, train and develop all service employees. Drive continuous improvement through company performance management process and technical product training programs.
• Maximize cash flow by ensuring invoices are generated immediately upon completion of work, managing expense budgets, and increasing utilization of the service team.
• Improve all processes impacting the customer experience and increase overall customer satisfaction.
• Ensure environmental, health and safety compliance within service team and provide training for a safe work environment.
• Travel to customer job sites is required, with potential exposure to variable weather, moving parts, heights, and other conditions.
