Amazon's Ring unit seeks a Builder on the App Platform team to write iOS/Android code powering Ring's mobile teams, building SDKs, frameworks, and tooling used by dozens of features.

You’ll code in modern Swift, Kotlin, or React Native, leverage AI-assisted development, and help evolve the mobile architecture to scale to tens of millions of users, with a focus on craftsmanship and reliability.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
• 3+ years of professional software development experience building mobile applications.
• 3+ years of native iOS (Swift/Objective-C) or Android (Kotlin/Java) development or 3+ years of production React Native experience with working knowledge of native platforms.
• Hands-on experience with modern UI frameworks (SwiftUI/UIKit, Jetpack Compose, or React Native) and modern concurrency patterns.
• Experience writing and maintaining unit and UI tests, and working within a CI/CD pipeline.

This is a role for someone who loves mobile development and wants to go deep — whether that's modern Swift and Kotlin or React Native paired with strong native fundamentals — using the latest platform APIs, clean architecture, and the kind of craftsmanship that holds up at the scale of tens of millions of users. You'll also work alongside engineers who are aggressively adopting AI across the development lifecycle, and you'll be expected to use those tools well — not as a novelty, but as a real lever to ship better software faster.

A day in the life

• Ship iOS and Android code that powers features used by millions of customers
• Apply modern AI-assisted workflows to write, test, review, and debug code more effectively
• Dig into performance, memory, and battery characteristics of the Ring app and find opportunities to make it better
• Work closely with feature teams as a platform partner — helping them adopt new APIs, debug tricky integration issues, and ship with confidence
• Participate in technical design discussions and code reviews with experienced mobile engineers, sharpening your craft

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• 3+ years of professional software development experience building mobile applications
• 3+ years of native iOS (Swift/Objective‑C) or Android (Kotlin/Java) development using modern tooling and architectural patterns — or 3+ years of production React Native (or comparable cross‑platform) experience with working knowledge of the underlying native platforms
• Hands‑on experience with modern UI frameworks (SwiftUI/UIKit, Jetpack Compose, or React Native) and modern concurrency patterns (Swift Concurrency, Combine, Coroutines, async JS)
• Solid understanding of mobile fundamentals: app lifecycle, memory and performance, networking, persistence, and testing
• Experience writing and maintaining unit and UI tests, and working within a CI/CD pipeline

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of both iOS and Android platforms, or experience bridging React Native with native modules
• Experience adopting AI-powered development tools (AI‑assisted coding, test generation, code review, debugging) in real production work
• Experience contributing to shared libraries, SDKs, or platform components used by other teams
• Experience with performance profiling and optimization on mobile devices
• Exposure to streaming video, real‑time communication (WebRTC, HLS, RTSP), or connected device protocols (Bluetooth, local network)

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
